Our experimental bamboo pavilion near Thol, Ahmedabad, was designed as a lightweight, cantilevered outdoor performance platform. It explores what bamboo can do in a hybrid system of compression and tension, with steel cables holding the cantilevered arms in balance.

The pavilion was prefabricated and assembled on site. We tested it first as a physical model of sticks and thread, then raised it with the team; at night, its orange fabric panels glow against the dark.
